Operation Brace Yourself: Unmasking the Network

Cox didn’t act alone. He was indicted in June 2023 alongside co-conspirators Brett Blackman and Gregory Schreck during a sweeping crackdown known as Operation Brace Yourself, a coordinated Justice Department strike targeting telehealth fraud across the country.

The trio, authorities say, built a well-oiled machine of manipulation, using telemarketers to pressure vulnerable seniors into accepting unnecessary braces, while doctors signed off on the orders without ever seeing or evaluating patients.
