Authorities reported the fatal shooting of Andre Longmore, the suspect in a four-person murder spree in a suburb of Atlanta, ending a two-day pursuit.

Henry County Sheriff, Reginald Scandrett, confirmed at a media briefing that the 40-year-old man was killed in a standoff with law enforcement on Sunday afternoon, during which a sheriff’s deputy and a Clayton County police officer sustained injuries.

“The menace has been removed from our streets. The residents of Hampton, Henry County, the metro Atlanta region, and the entirety of Georgia can experience some relief tonight,” stated Scandrett.

Longmore had allegedly committed a quadruple homicide in Hampton, located about 35 miles south of Atlanta, on Saturday morning around 10:45 a.m., as per Hampton Police Chief James Turner’s previous media address.

The horrifying event triggered a full-force pursuit of the perpetrator, with the sheriff’s department proposing a reward of $10,000 for any pertinent information. “We will relentlessly pursue you, no matter where you seek refuge, and bring you to justice,” Scandrett warned Longmore during a Saturday press conference.
