The 2020 Democrat’s precise words read as follows:

“I’ll tell you that my gut is that [President Trump intimidates] the average Republican in the Senate and the House. […] I have my doubts that any Republican, or very few, would vote against him. You know [and I know] what [Trump] will do: ‘I am vindicated! I am vindicated!’ And I think that is a fact [to take] into consideration.”

Sanders then proceeded to allege that the president’s behavior in office is “unconstitutional” and moreover expressed support for “a process” to take place.

Even if impeachment made it to the Senate, two-thirds of the very red Senate would have to vote in favor.
