These recent revelations about genetic weapons are not the first indications of interest in biological and genetic warfare. 

Two years ago, a report emerged suggesting that Chinese scientists were preparing for a hypothetical Third World War with biological and genetic weapons. 

The report postulated that these weapons would be central to achieving victory in such a conflict and even outlined the ideal conditions for deploying a bioweapon and its potential impact on the adversary’s medical infrastructure.
