Biological Weapons: China Opens a New Frontlines in Genetic Warfare

Biological weapons

Chinese officials are claiming that foreign nations have not only infiltrated their laboratories to steal vital biodiversity data but have also harnessed AI-driven genetic engineering biological weapons. And they now have the capability to create weapons that target specific ethnic groups.

Concerns are going public about how easy it is to conceal and the long-term harm of these so-called genetic weapons. They represent a challenging potential threat.

The Ministry of State Security's announcement on WeChat underscored the covert activities of certain non-governmental organizations, which recruited Chinese "volunteers" to collect biodiversity distribution data while posing as biological species researchers.

Ethnically Targeted Biological Weapons

This data collection was conducted under the pretense of legitimate scientific research. The revelation that these foreign nations are potentially engineering genetic weapons designed to target genetic differences associated with ethnicity or race has raised alarm bells on the global stage.

President Joe Biden has issued a comprehensive executive order aimed at safeguarding national security and preventing the misuse of AI technologies in the creation of biological and genetic weapons.

The order requires safety testing of AI models like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard, with the results subject to government review before public release. The overarching goal is to ensure that AI technologies are not exploited for nefarious purposes.

Genetic Weaponry: A Disruptive Technology

According to reports from the Global Times, AI models, when provided with a sufficient number of human genetic samples, can decipher the unique genetic traits of each ethnic group.

This capability raises concerns about the potential misuse of genetic information and the need for robust biosecurity measures.

The Chinese Ministry of State Security emphasizes that maintaining biosecurity is a shared societal responsibility. The ministry calls for a collective commitment to biosafety principles and the application of lessons learned from managing biosafety risks, particularly in the context of public health emergencies.

These recent revelations about genetic weapons are not the first indications of interest in biological and genetic warfare.

Two years ago, a report emerged suggesting that Chinese scientists were preparing for a hypothetical Third World War with biological and genetic weapons.

The report postulated that these weapons would be central to achieving victory in such a conflict and even outlined the ideal conditions for deploying a bioweapon and its potential impact on the adversary's medical infrastructure.

Echoes of COVID-19

Independent presidential hopeful RFK Jr's claims that COVID-19 was "ethnically targeted" to avoid affecting Jewish or Chinese populations has surprised a lot of people. Although these claims remain unverified, they contribute to the ongoing debate regarding the origins and motives behind the virus.

The debate surrounding the origins of COVID-19 has recently been reignited.

While the official narrative suggests zoonotic transmission from animals, most officials believe that the virus might have accidentally leaked from a Chinese lab. And that the US was funding the research.

The dossier prepared by People's Liberation Army scientists and health officials, as reported, delves into the manipulation of diseases for weaponization in unprecedented ways.

The claims of foreign nations using genetic engineering for the development of biological weapons are certainly a cause for the global community to be concerned.
