Individuals who flashed their “funds” from Chase ATMs on social media will soon regret it, if they don’t already. During this week alone, the financial institution sued businesses and individuals alike for amounts totaling $661,000 and $335,000.
At this time, it has yet to be publicly announced how many people stole money as part of the “Chase glitch.” However, the bank is taking this seriously and those who did engage will have to face the music.
Slam dunk legal suits
JPMorgan will have a relatively easy time holding these individuals accountable. ATM machines come with cameras. Plus, checking accounts are linked to each person’s name, address, Social Security number, and phone number.
If that wasn’t enough, several participants in the “Chase glitch” bragged about the funds they obtained in TikTok videos. Some folks have since deleted such incriminating content; though TikTok will have a fairly easy time recovering the footage.
In the weeks to come, more developments on this “Chase glitch” trend and the ensuing ramifications can be expected.
