China’s restrictive zero-COVID policies relaxing due to riots

 China is tweaking its containment measures so that local jurisdictions have more say in how home isolation is being handled. Beijing and Guangzhou are now allowing some people who test positive to isolate at home. 

China’s State Council Task Force announced on Wednesday that zero-Covid policy is not as strict. “We will protect people’s safety and health to the greatest [extent] and keep the impact on social and economic development to a minimum.”
