Wife poisoned man’s wine with antifreeze ‘payback’: Cops
Child Also Hospitalized After Drinking Poisoned Wine
The couple’s young child was later hospitalized in late September with symptoms similar to the father’s after reportedly drinking some of the same poisoned wine. Hogan denied the child had been exposed to the toxin, saying only the wine and iced tea were tainted.
“Hogan stated it was only the wine and the iced tea, and nobody else knew she was tampering with [the victim’s] drinks,” the affidavit said.
Authorities said Hogan’s motive was likely tied to custody and property disputes. According to the victim, Hogan stood to gain full ownership of the couple’s home and full-time custody of their child if he died.

‘Payback’ for Alleged Abuse
During her police interview, Hogan reportedly claimed she never intended to kill her husband but admitted she wanted him to suffer.
“She did want to get him sick as payback for him being mentally abusive,” the affidavit quotes her as saying.
