Authorities are particularly focused on protecting fans who gather outside the venue before and after the events.
Ben Knott, operations director at FGH Security in England, explained that private security firms often work with police at such events to identify suspicious individuals.
“Counter-terrorism forces use both plainclothes and uniformed personnel to spot potential threats,” Knott said. He added that behavior such as scanning the area for cameras and police is often a red flag that prompts security intervention.
The decision to bolster security at Wembley follows the cancellation of Swift’s concerts in Vienna, where three suspects were allegedly planning to detonate explosives at one of her shows.
Despite these precautions, the London Metropolitan Police have assured the public that there is no current evidence to suggest that the threats in Austria will impact events in London.
