In the wake of the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) strike, which lasted for 146 days, the entertainment industry finds itself at a crossroads. This shift raises questions about the role of woke writers and the quest for high-quality content.

The strike aimed to secure better benefits for scriptwriters and other behind-the-scenes professionals and, in the process, sparked conversations about hiring practices and diversity in the creative realm.

One prominent player in the industry, Disney Marvel, has announced sweeping changes in its approach to television content creation. Marvel Studios is currently in the midst of restructuring its television division.

The primary objective behind this restructuring is to place a more significant emphasis on individual experience, skillset, and salary requirements, as opposed to prioritizing diversity hires. This strategic adjustment is partially a response to the recent struggles that Marvel’s television content has faced on their streaming platform, Disney+.
