Elon Musk to Launch Dogecoin-Funded Mission to The Moon Early in 2022

“DOGE-1 could be the first cubesat in history to reach the moon, marking a significant achievement for global spaceflight,” the companies told CoinTelegraph.

In recent years, blockchain technology alongside cryptocurrencies has been making a buzz. The technologies’ use-case has been expanding into broader markets and industries including process bond payments, medical information storage, mortgage agreements and more. Dogecoin has surged by over 13,000 over the last year, according to CoinGecko.

Musk, the Dogefather

Musk is considered the Dogefather of Dogecoin. SpaceX and Tesla CEO’s tweets have been pushing the digital currency to new all-time highs every time. In a recent tweet, Musk announced that he owns Dogecoin among other cryptos such as Bitcoin and Ether. Musk first announced that the dogecoin mission would be happening in 2022 in May in a separate tweet.

Geometric Energy Corp, an intellectual property, manufacturing and logistics firm, had said in a press release in May that it had paid Elon Musk’s space company in dogecoin to fund the mission.
