Ex-NBA Players Fraud Case : Trial Date Nears
Bynum and Davis are the last two defendants to maintain a not-guilty plea out of the original 24 charged in the case. Their trial is slated to commence on November 1, promising a legal showdown with high stakes.
The charges against Bynum involve submitting fraudulent invoices to the NBA’s health care plan for medical work that was never performed, resulting in him pocketing approximately $182,000. Davis, on the other hand, submitted an invoice for $250,000, which was denied. Subsequently, he submitted another false invoice for dental work amounting to $132,000, which was also rejected.
Prosecutors in this case are Ryan Finkel and Daniel Nessim of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
Glen Davis is represented by Sabrina Shroff of the Federal Defenders of New York, while Will Bynum is represented by Victor Henderson and Kimberly Tarver of Henderson Parks LLC.
