Fake accounts are operating across Facebook and Instagram. But they are also on other platforms including Twitter, YouTube, and Telegram.
Meta has changed the platform by removing the ability to view and search the friend’s lists of Facebook accounts in Ukraine. It also made this change in Russia to protect protestors who speak out.
We’ve already noticed @Meta decisions on blocking Russian propagandists and media outlets. @nickclegg, thanks for your actions and this very first step in countering the bloody military attack against Ukraine. There is no place for war criminals in Metaverse. https://t.co/IbB0NmQD5A

The crisis in Ukraine has seen escalating clashes between Moscow and major tech companies. On Friday, Russia said it would restrict access to Facebook in the country. This move came after Meta said it refused the request to stop the independent fact-checking of several Russian state media outlets.
A Twitter spokesperson claims that it also suspended more than a dozen accounts. And was blocking sharing of several links. All due to the accounts violating its rules against spam and platform manipulation and spam. It said its ongoing investigation indicates the accounts originate in Russia.
