Lowell, a stalwart in defending political figures mired in controversy, formally joined the legal cavalry for Biden in the past month, although he’s been behind the scenes since December.
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced another critical move on Friday, appointing David Weiss, the U.S. attorney overseeing the Biden investigation, as special counsel.
Promising transparency, Garland asserted his intent to share as much of Weiss’ final findings with the public, “consistent with legal boundaries.”
The battlefield is set with formidable attorneys on both sides. Representing the government is the trio from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware: Benjamin L. Wallace, Derek E. Hines, and Leo J. Wise. As for Biden’s defense arsenal, apart from Clark and Lowell, he’s backed by the likes of Richard I.G. Jones Jr., Timothy H. McCarten, Brian C. McManus, and Matthew S. Salerno.
