ICE continues to target criminal immigrants who are threats to public safety
In a statement, ERO New York field office director Thomas Decker, commented, “ICE officers conduct targeted enforcement actions daily, and like in this initiative, we arrest criminal aliens who are public safety threats in the communities.”
He added they remained focused on the “truth of their priority” amid “misinformation and misrepresentation about ICE.” Their priority is “to target and arrest criminal aliens to remove them off the streets in the interest of public safety.”
Last year, ICE removed 258,085 immigrants from the United States. ERO arrested 158,581 immigrants, 90 percent of them had criminal convictions, pending criminal charges or previously issued final orders.
