There is no doubt that Amazon will be very busy during the holidays since the United States continues to experience an increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases across the country.
In fact, health experts are saying that the U.S. should prepare for more deaths this winter. The University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) predicted that COVID-19 could kill over 2,900 people a day in the country.
Amazon Career Choice upskilling program
Aside from the seasonal job opportunities, Amazon also announced it achieved two other important milestones in 2020.
The e-commerce giant promoted 35,000 Operations employees and 30,000 employees participated in its Career Choice upskilling program.
Its Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment Alicia Boler Davis said, “At Amazon, we believe in providing our employees with great jobs and better futures. We’re proud to see our employees grow through promotions to the next level at Amazon and also through programs like Career Choice, which help them pursue careers in high demand fields.”
