“Usually you can tell, certainly by the substance of the questions, [and] by how many they’re asking of a particular witness. The key expert on the plaintiff’s side may get a lot of questions, while maybe the counterpart on the defense may not. That could be a sign,” Judge Villaseñor said. “What ends up happening is, you have a lot of questions, and then you don’t. And so then you’re like: ‘OK, something’s happened. Maybe they’ve heard enough. They feel they have a good handle on things.'”
