Is Kim Jong Un “More Responsible” Than President Trump?

No good deed goes unpunished. At least, not in the case of President Trump. Democrat Keith Ellison made headlines yesterday after his following statements:

North Korea is a serious thing. You have this guy making bellicose threats against somebody else who has very little to lose over there. Kim Jong Un, the world always thought he was not a responsible leader; well, he’s acting more responsible than this guy is.

Digging Deeper

With all due respect, Ellison is out of his mind. Does he really believe Kim Jong Un’s threats to attack the U.S. over imposed sanctions are more responsible than President Trump telling him to knock it off? Democrats are so blinded by their hatred of President Trump and it’s dangerous. How would Ellison prefer the President to handle this matter? Should he simply ignore North Korea? Should America be fearful and weak or indomitable and strong?

Kim Jong Un is one of the least responsible leaders in the world. He is a communist dictator who frequently starves his own people. He latest misdeed, and perhaps his last, is threatening the United States. President Trump’s refusal to accept such a dangerous affront against this country simply speaks to his fitness to lead America.

The Left’s Hatred For America

Ellison’s decision to side with a communist dictator over the U.S. President signifies a very real problem on the political left. For starters, Ellison is certainly not the only person in his party to hold this belief. How many others share this notion but have yet to speak out? Kim Jong Un’s threats against this nation are unacceptable and will not go unchecked.

If “fire and fury” is more offensive to Democrats than threats to nuke America, perhaps the Democrats should find another nation to call home. A great deal of effective leadership involves the protection of one’s own people. President Trump sent a strong, serious message to North Korea. They will not threaten this nation without consequences.

Did Ellison Retract His Statement?

In a later interview with the Washington Post, Ellison attempted to gloss over his previous remarks:

That was one of those I wish I’d not said. It’s tailor-made for somebody to misuse. I’d say, he’s being incredibly irresponsible, and he’s putting us in a situation where you could have an accidental launch.

Ellison’s pitiful try at retraction is merely further evidence of his lack of understanding. Warning Kim Jong Un against threatening America is not irresponsible. A true lack of responsibility is sitting by and idly doing nothing as North Korea puffs out their chest. The sooner Democrats value American strength and patriotism over their own political vendettas, the better off this nation will be.
