Many Americans Fearful of Losing Jobs to AI

AI proponents often counter this, arguing the technology is something that humans will work with, rather than lose out to. Yet, considerable amounts of employees who currently use artificial intelligence tools on the job still fear that AI will have not-so-great impacts on their careers.

Other working Americans fear that AI could limit job prospects in their fields altogether. The fear here is that with the growing efficiency of artificial intelligence, it’ll become increasingly more capable of taking on tasks once reserved for humans.

Finally, more than five in ten workers believe artificial intelligence will reduce the hours, pay, and opportunities available to Americans.

AI is not going anywhere. However, the collective impact it has on the workforce and various industries remains to be seen.

What’s clear is that people’s concerns seem to be growing alongside the technology. However, others still maintain a positive view of what all AI will lead to. Some, for instance, posit that artificial intelligence could create a demand for new jobs and opportunities.
