Mark Cuban is happy with Elon Musk’s Twitter acquisition.
The world’s wealthiest man finalized his $44 billion purchase of the social-media platform on Thursday after a months-long back-and-forth.
Cuban, a billionaire entrepreneur, celebrated on Twitter, tweeting that he was “looking forward” to the Elon Musk era.
“He is a ready, fire, aim entrepreneur who will truly enjoy fucking with everyone who has an expectation of him,” Cuban said. “The only expectation you can have of @elonmusk is that he will flex his independence to show everyone who’s in charge.”
Cuban said in 2020 that he had bought more stake in Twitter, saying that he is a “long-term holder there.”
“I owned shares going into this decline,” Cuban said, regarding the stock market’s tumble amid the pandemic. “I don’t know what’s going to happen or when, but I think long-term we’ll be okay.”
Cuban added in a since-deleted tweet in April, when Musk first announced he was looking to purchase Twitter, that he was “very surprised” by the move and that Musk was “on the clock.”
