Political Reactions: Sharp Divisions Emerge
Republicans reacted swiftly and harshly. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer called Walz’s exit “good riddance,” while GOP gubernatorial candidates argued the resignation underscores systemic Democratic failures.
State Rep. Kristin Robbins said,
“Tim Walz and his staggering fraud could not outrun our investigations.”
House Speaker Lisa Demuth echoed that sentiment on social media, warning that replacing Walz would not erase the scandal.
Democrats, meanwhile, rallied to Walz’s defense. Democratic Governors Association Chair Andy Beshear praised him as
“a true leader who has delivered results that will make life better for Minnesota workers and families.”
