The mainstreaming of artificial intelligence (AI) continues to place this technology under a microscope. Just in 2023 alone, key reports about AI have dominated conversations in the tech, political, and healthcare spaces.
The technology’s documented abilities to improve or weaken cybersecurity, impact the 2024 presidential election, and even increase detections of breast cancer and Parkinson’s disease are keeping it on the map.
Meanwhile, AI today continues to evolve.
Some people are using the content for generative purposes; though that’s running into some issues as well. OpenAI, for instance, is facing a lawsuit from the New York Times, which alleges that the AI company illegally used copyrighted NYT articles to instruct its chatbots on content creation.
All of the buzz, controversy, and differing opinions make it quite clear that there’s no telling what next year has in store when it comes to AI.
Artificial intelligence in 2024 and beyond
At this time, the only sure thing about AI is its continued use in one form or another. Many scientists and other officials maintain that while this technology comes with benefits, regulations to ensure its proper use remain imperative.
