As these folks contend that top Democrats aren’t paying them enough mind, key social justice groups are planning marches for all four days of the convention. They’re also pushing for Harris to commit to an arms embargo against the Jewish state.
On multiple occasions, the vice president and other officials with her campaign met with groups voicing concerns about ongoing, Middle Eastern affairs. Yet, Palestine supporters still feel it’s not enough.
Poor optics for pro-Palestine groups
Today, anti-Israel demonstrators repeatedly face accusations of antisemitism. Fueling this perception are demands for Israel to cease fighting Hamas, along with assertions that Israel has no right to self-defense whatsoever.
This goes a bridge too far for many Americans, including Democrats like Harris and Biden who’ve called for a ceasefire. With the DNC kicking off tomorrow, it remains to be seen what real impact Palestine supporters have in Chicago.
