With years having passed since then, fans are dying to ascertain when they can expect season two. Thankfully, an update has finally arrived.
Season two arrives in late 2025
James Gunn, the writer and director of Peacemaker, announced via Threads that the second season of his hit show comes next year. Specifically, Peacemaker returns after Superman (also directed by Gunn) hits movie theaters in July 2025.
This film will also be canon to Peacemaker as the second season is set to follow the events of next year’s Superman.
Fans can furthermore expect Rick Flag Sr., father to the now-deceased Rick Flag, to appear in season two. Portraying this character is none other than actor Frank Grillo. Given Peacemaker’s role in killing Flag Sr.’s son, it’ll be interesting to see how these two characters interact. Flag Sr., at least in the beginning, could very well be an antagonist to Peacemaker.
Other characters confirmed for the next season include Emilia Harcourt, Leota Adebayo, Vigilante, and John Economos. As 2025 gets closer, fans can anticipate more details about the upcoming storyline and what adventures Task Force X has on the roster.
