The ChatGPT parent company says this change will let the public truly see the “potential” of artificial intelligence and all it can do. The first users to enjoy this perk will be those here in the United States; however, OpenAI also plans to roll this out to the rest of the world.
Having an account with ChatGPT still comes with some upsides
While setting up an account will no longer be a prerequisite to accessing ChatGPT, there are still certain perks not available to just anyone.
For instance, people who want to share or save their chats will first need to log in. Likewise, voice conversations with the generative AI program will not be available to individuals lacking personal accounts.
There are still some crucial kinks to iron out
Despite the greater accessibility of ChatGPT, its accuracy is still a point of contention in many cases. The program is notorious for often generating outdated and inaccurate information.
As such, people depending on ChatGPT remain encouraged to conduct their own fact-checking of any generated material.
