Sean “Diddy” Combs introduced Empower Global, a curated online marketplace specifically for Black businesses.
In a previous public statement, Ashli Goudelock, the proprietor of the Tsuri skincare brand, clarified that her company stood at the brink of departing from the Empower Global platform. She asserted, “As a women-owned and-led company, we do not and will not linger in a gray area about the mistreatment of women.”
In December, Rebecca Allen, founder of the eponymously-named shoe brand, expressed her concern about both Sean’s allegations and the platform’s lackluster performance. Allen emphasized, “These harrowing allegations have expedited our decision, and we ended our partnership with Empower Global earlier this month.”
Throughout his career, Mr. Combs has been involved in a multitude of business ventures, spanning music, entertainment, and even the latest virtual currency. Some notable ventures include:
- Bad Boy Records
- Capital Prep Harlem
- Combs Wines & Spirits (home to Cîroc Ultra Premium & Deleón Tequila)
- Sean John
- REVOLT TV & Media / REVOLT Films
Diddy’s endorsement deals have also extended to collaborations with renowned brands like AQUAhydrate and Burger King. However, the potential negative repercussions for these brands due to their association with Mr. Combs remain uncertain.
