 Guaranteed Rate Field stadium was the scene of a "shooting incident, "on Friday night. Police confirmed that two people were shot after the White Sox's game against the Oakland A's.

The attendance for Friday's game was reportedly 21,906 people.

According to audio of the 16th & 17th District Chicago Police Scanner on Twitter, one fan was grazed in the stomach and another victim was shot in the leg. A third victim escaped uninjured.

The victim with the wounded leg is reported to have been transported to the University of Chicago Hospital. 

Police said that the bloodshed occurred in the outfield bleachers of section 162.

According to a witness, named Tom Miller who claimed he was sitting two rows behind where the shooting happened, security relocated him and the entire section to section six. And they were forced to remain there for about 45 minutes.

Videos from inside the ballpark show security cordoning off part of a section in the left-field bleachers.

 A forensic team and Chicago detectives later scanned the area for evidence. And police recovered live rounds at the scene.

An investigation is said to be ongoing, with a police statement on the incident now scheduled for Saturday morning. 

The game was finished as the White Sox lost 12-4. It is believed play was not interrupted despite the shooting incident, with the situation inside remaining calm throughout.

 Fans were forced to leave at the end of the match after a post-game concert was canceled. The concert featuring rapper Vanilla Ice was just beginning when the violence took place.

However, an announcement on the screen at Guaranteed Rate Field put the cancellation down to 'technical issues'. 

Fans were angry and confused as a result of the White Sox’s loss. They were also upset at the cancellation of the Vanilla Ice 90’s postgame concert.

Chicago police and a White Sox representative announced they would provide an update in a press conference on Friday night. The press conference was also canceled. An investigation is said to be ongoing, with a police statement on the incident now scheduled for Saturday morning.
