You need to wear eclipse safety glasses to protect your eyes during the entire time the event is in play.

Expect a drop in temperature as the Earth darkens in the eclipse path.

Experts claim that animals, insects and birds may react as if it were twilight or dawn.

The current eclipse prompts some public safety concerns. Fear of travel delays and traffic-jammed highways are an issue. People may even pull off the road or stop when the eclipse becomes visible.

“The eclipse in 2024 could be even more exciting due to differences in the path, timing, and scientific research,” according to NASA.

The next total solar eclipse crossing over the U.S. will come on Aug. 23, 2044. And it will only touch the states of Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota, according to the Planetary Society.
