Further reports indicate that X is currently going through the process of testing the ability to conduct audio and video calls.
These new developments follow several other recent updates about X. Earlier this week, users learned the platform will begin gathering information pertaining to their individual education status and employment history.
In previous updates about X, Musk also said he intends to make the platform one where individuals can pay for goods/services, in addition to conducting other financial and banking transactions.
X users react
In the quote posts responding to Musk’s latest reveal, users had some interesting feedback.
Much of it was negative, with people suggesting this could lead to central bank digital currency (CBDC), various companies eavesdropping on individuals’ conversations, and even a dystopian social credit system.
Finally, some X users outrightly stated that anyone who opts to call them on the platform will find themselves blocked.
