PFAS chemical exposure remains strongly linked to crippling health problems, such as obesity, liver damage, cancer, thyroid disease, and more. Almost two years ago, the US Environmental Protection Agency stated on record that previous scientists underestimated the harm that these substances can inflict on human beings.

Because the chemicals go through many different stages and exposure levels can vary, there’s still a lot more information to be revealed. Though what we know now indicates that steering clear of ingesting tap water – even in the United States – is an advisable decision.

Healthier ways to get enough water each day

In 2024, drinking water without running the risk of PFAS chemical contamination has never been easier. Mineral water is a great option, as is water that’s sparkling, distilled, purified, or alkaline.
