For many people, January marks the start of a new year. This is a time when people often set (and work to achieve) their new year’s resolutions. People may also try unexplored activities or otherwise venture out in celebration of a new year.

However, while January does mark a new start, a new year, and new possibilities, it is also Human Trafficking Awareness Month or Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

Unfortunately, human trafficking remains an ongoing stain on society. Many people suffer at the hands of human traffickers. This form of modern-day slavery exists in every nation around the world and in every state across America.

However, as a new year gets started, there are some critical details to know about human trafficking and how to join the fight against it.

Getting involved with anti-human trafficking organizations makes a difference

In 2023, there are multiple organizations dedicated to the fight against human trafficking. Operation Underground Railroad, A21, Free A Girl, Slavery Free World, and The Nazarene Fund are just a few examples.
