United Kingdom Moves to Designate Russian Mercenary Group as Terrorist Organization

Amid announcing the aforementioned order, Suella Braverman, the UK Home Secretary, made it clear that Britain takes this matter seriously. Braverman stated the UK condemns PMC Wagner’s alleged crimes in Africa and the Middle East.

Tom Tugendhat, the Security Minister of the UK, also put out a similar statement. He stressed that Britain has no tolerance for crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine or for Russian proxies operating in other areas around the world.

All eyes on Russia

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it’s captured global attention.

Thus far, considerable countries across the globe have imposed sanctions on Russia. Myriad businesses also pulled out from Russia (and allied nation Belarus) as a form of protest against the aggression it waged in Ukraine.

Russia’s position in the international spotlight isn’t dying down anytime soon. Just days ago, Putin announced his plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The rising alliance between Russia and China continues to cause concerns in the West, as both countries show rising hostility against much of the rest of the world.
