There are also some concerns that as Western governments squabble amongst themselves and rush to take credit for producing a game plan for AI, the vision put forward by China could end up stealing the spotlight on the world stage.

The clock is ticking

All things considered, the world would be better off with the West setting the rules and regulations for AI. Allowing nations like China to control the narrative could engender catastrophic outcomes.

So far, it remains to be seen if the US, EU, and other Western governments can reach common ground on how to handle this technology.
