Addressing the House Judiciary Committee’s Crime and Federal Government Surveillance Subcommittee, Davis revealed alarming statistics: over the past three years, threats against federal judges have more than doubled. He emphasized that these threats aren’t isolated to judges alone but extend to prosecutors and other court officials, painting a grim picture of heightened volatility within the justice system.

“While emotional reactions to judicial decisions are not uncommon, what we’re witnessing now is a ‘new normal’ characterized by extreme and unpredictable behavior,” Davis stated emphatically. “Extremism from any corner of the ideological spectrum has the potential to incite violence and threats.”
