Fingerprint Evidence

A key piece of evidence that led to Hernandez-Hernandez’s arrest was a fingerprint found on the wooden box the suspects had stolen.

The 28-year-old was arrested by Colleyville police on September 19, just two days before the robbery occurred. He had been stopped for a defective brake light and was cited for multiple offenses, including no driver’s license, vehicle registration, and insurance. He also had possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dallas police were able to use the fingerprints from his earlier arrest to track Hernandez-Hernandez to his apartment in Hurst.

The Venezuelan Gang Connection

After his arrest, Hernandez-Hernandez informed authorities that the other men involved were members of a notorious Venezuelan criminal street gang. And that he had been paid $150 for his role in the robbery.
