Residents of the affluent East Lake Village community in Yorba Linda, Orange County, were shocked to discover a violent attack on a security guard took place last week.

The incident, which occurred around 9 p.m. on March 3, has created widespread concern among residents.

East Lake Village Shores advertises that it’s residents can enjoy “the serenity of a lake-centered paradise for homeowners. 

According to the high-end private subdivision’s website, homeowners must pay dues to cover the costs of security, community employees, maintenance of facilities, including swimming pools, Clubhouse, Boathouse, recreation, administration, and maintenance of the private lake.

Violent Attack

According to reports circulating within private social media groups, security cameras captured the brutal assault. The security guard was seen on video being attacked.

He had confronted the two suspects for fishing after dark. And they later confronted him in the community parking lot.

One of the suspects put the guard in a headlock during the attack. This rendered him unconscious. Residents speculate that at least one of the assailants may have had some form of combat training.

Descriptions of the suspects provided by witnesses suggest they were male teenagers aged between 16 and 17. One had shaggy blonde hair, while another was seen recording the assault on his cellphone. 

Cherry Allen and Darlene Case, residents of East Lake Village, expressed dismay over not being promptly informed about the incident, emphasizing the need for transparency and community safety.

The residents have not been shown the surveillance footage. And are unable to identify the suspects.

The residents are nervous about the attack. And have been urging community management for more information.

Meanwhile the general manager of East Lake Village offered few details, assuring that the incident had been reported to police. And assuring that the injured guard is expected to recover.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed they are involved in an ongoing investigation.
