Supreme Court Case

 X Corp. is urging the Supreme Court to prevent such instances from recurring, arguing that the decisions of the D.C. courts failed to adequately protect the company's constitutional rights.

Represented by legal experts from WilmerHale, X Corp. contends that the nondisclosure orders imposed by the courts infringed upon its ability to inform users about government requests for their data.

The case raises significant questions about executive privilege and the rights of individuals whose information may be subject to government scrutiny.

While Trump's account was the focal point of the initial dispute, X Corp. highlights the potential impact on other users, including attorneys, journalists, and spouses, who may have their own privileges to assert.

Federal district judge Beryl Howell, overseeing the case, upheld the nondisclosure order, citing concerns that informing Trump about the subpoena could jeopardize the investigation led by Jack Smith who has since been appointed Special Council, but was not at the time he got the records.

Howell's decision was later affirmed by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, albeit with criticism from four conservative judges regarding the potential evasion of executive privilege disputes.
