Andrew Tate, Amid Human Trafficking Probe, Loses Latest Appeal to Escape Detention

Tate’s legal counsel claimed his plans of going to Dubai would only occur for medical reasons, rather than to avoid facing the music in Romania. However, the court is not falling for the narrative that Tate is not a flight risk.

The judge also ruled that Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu will have to return to detention as well. This comes after DIICOT, Romania’s anti-organized crime unit, appealed a court ruling earlier this month that granted the two women house arrest, rather than detention.

Naghel and Radu are two associates of the Tate brothers, also arrested by Romanian law enforcement in December 2022. Tristan Tate, Andrew’s younger brother, will likewise remain in detention until at least March 29.

Between now and March 29, more information about Romania’s probe into the Tate brothers and their two associates will likely emerge. During the later part of next month, DIICOT will have the opportunity to appeal for yet another extenstion of Tate’s time in lockup, if they deem it necessary.
