New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is facing her comeuppance after rallying against fellow Democrats in primaries in favor of more progressive opponents.

It also comes days after the firebrand 30-year-old representative said that her Party needs new leadership, a reference to House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader and New York Sen. Charles Schumer among others.

After a secret ballot she lost her chance at a spot on the prestigious House Energy and Commerce Committee, as her colleagues cast an overwhelming vote, 46 – 13, for her fellow New York Democratic Rep. Kathleen Rice.

During a video call before the vote her fellow Democrats took her apart after her comments on new leadership and a feud with Sen. Joe Manchin.

“I’m taking into account who works against other members in primaries and who doesn’t,” Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Texas Democrat whose opponent, Jessica Cisneros, was backed by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, said.

Her fight with Sen. Manchin has gone on for weeks with the West Virginia Senator saying “She’s more active on Twitter than anything else.”
