During your stay, it’s good to leave certain days up to chance. Maybe you’ll want to just rest, focus on work, or sleep in. Believe it or not, having specific days where you’re not going out and constantly on the move is a good thing. This allows your body and mind to rest, reset, and recharge.
These more relaxed periods, in turn, give you energy on the days when you’re touring the country, taking the train to different cities, or otherwise navigating a carefully scheduled itinerary.
Listen to your body
Before burnout strikes, there are often warning signs from your body. Maybe you’ve planned to visit a new cafe on a Tuesday, but then Tuesday arrives and you just want to stay in and work from your hotel or Airbnb.
There is no shame in heeding the warning signs from within. The cafe isn’t going anywhere…and even if you did force yourself to go out and see it, you likely wouldn’t appreciate it as much as you would if you’d waited to go on a different day.
Rest before big excursions
If you have an all-day tour planned for a Friday, it may not hurt to use Wednesday and Thursday to kick back and have takeout delivered to your doorstep.
