Over the course of Biden’s campaign, he’s attempted to brand himself as a candidate with bipartisan capabilities. The former vice president even once stated that he believes his campaign can garner conservative donors and backing from right-wing politicians.
.@JoeBiden was asked if he would consider choosing a Republican running mate if he is nominee for a show-of-force unity ticket:
“I would” Biden said but added he couldn’t think of anyone at the moment.

In the wake of this admission, more progressive members of the Democrat Party censured Biden. Many responses asserted that moderate leftists who attempt to reach out to conservatives are problematic to the greater goals of Democrats.
Would a Republican Willingly Join Biden Against President Trump?
Despite Biden’s talk about being able to do well with the right-wing and garner conservative support, the reality suggests a different narrative. The former vice president has worked overtime to brand himself as the most electable Democrat with crossover appeal; however, his policies and the GOP’s overwhelming support for Trump will work against Biden.
The former vice president has consistently sparred with Trump, even prior to the latter’s election into the White House. If Biden does win his party’s nomination and select a conservative running mate, they’ll likely be a never-Trumper.
