The ongoing war in Israel continues to reveal some prominent fractures within the Democrat Party. While many Democrats made their support for Israel (and their condemnation of Hamas' terrorist attacks) quite clear, others have not.

In fact, certain leftist officials openly uplift the antisemitic "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" slogan. Other Democrats refuse to come out with a clear rebuke of Hamas' invasion of Israel and attacks against Israeli people.

This leaves Democrats who do support Israel in somewhat of a tight spot. For Joe Biden, his pro-Israel stance continues to hurt him, at least to some degree, amongst Democratic voters.

Now, yet another poll shows that Biden is slipping amongst a key demographic. This will undoubtedly impact his chances of winning the Democrat Party's primary election.

More bad news for the president

During the 2020 race, Biden winning Michigan played a huge role in him taking the White House. However, such a victory could be in jeopardy as the president seeks reelection this time around.

A new poll shows that among Muslim Americans in Michigan, Biden is down badly. Only 16% of this demographic confirmed they'd cast ballots for the president if they had to vote in the 2024 race today.

Many Muslim and Arab Americans also feel that Biden hasn't done a very good job in his approach to the war in Israel. For that reason alone, a significant amount of Muslim and Arab voters expressed willingness to support a Democrat seeking to replace Biden or to cast ballots for a third-party contender.

An underlying problem for the Democrat Party?

Varied reactions from the left wing to the war in Israel put the party under somewhat of a microscope. Critics, especially those who feel sympathetic to Israel's plight, have now begun to caution that the Democrat Party ultimately has an antisemitism problem.

How this impacts Biden's ability to stay in good standing with his own voter base remains to be seen. However, there's no denying that the Israel-Hamas war has significantly impacted how various Americans view different political officials.

Time will tell if Biden can successfully navigate this or if he ultimately loses the Democratic nomination to another candidate.
