Amid these attacks against law enforcement officers, Democrats have not apologized for their role in this. Just earlier this week, the White House attempted to claim that Republicans are the party of defunding police; however, when challenged on such a demonstrably untrue claim, press secretary Jen Psaki could not name a single Republican supportive of defunding police.
Meanwhile, Democrats seek to further place a collective target on law enforcement’s backs by ending qualified immunity for police. Just like defunding the police, the GOP has come out fully against the removal of qualified immunity.
Loss of police officers in America
The months between April 2020 and April 2021 have witnessed severe drops in police officers. Law enforcement members who opted to retire jumped by 45%; meanwhile, police officers who simply quit their jobs surged by 18%.
The aforementioned data comes in comparison to the prior year.
Across the nation, different law enforcement bodies are reporting record lows in new recruits. The message is very clear: police officers are leaving in droves, as crime surges in direct correlation.
