In a move likened to signing a star striker for a top-tier football team, Brown Rudnick LLP has roped in renowned disputes resolution mastermind, Robin Pickworth, as a partner in their London-based litigation and arbitration unit.

Pickworth's Specialized Arsenal

Having steered Armstrong Teasdale LLP's U.K. civil fraud division in London, Pickworth comes with a glinting résumé, sharpened on complex cross-border fraud investigations and defending high-profile celebrity clientele.

Diving into the anatomy of his role, Pickworth shared with Law360, "Picture it as navigating a storm in the high seas of international disputes – ones that involve soured investments, mammoth monetary misappropriations or, most often, global fraud."

The Tuna Bond Fraud Case

Currently, Pickworth is navigating one of the most treacherous fraud investigations involving a whopping $2 billion in loans from global banking giants Credit Suisse and Russian bank VTB. This pertains to projects aimed at fortifying Mozambique's fishing industry.

Representing the corner for Jean Boustani, a sales magnate from Lebanese shipbuilding colossus Privinvest, Pickworth is defending allegations of Boustani sprinkling bribes to reel in contracts from state-owned firms in this expansive tuna bond fraud scenario.

London: The Epicenter of Litigation

Even as Pickworth's clientele dots the globe, particularly the Middle East and Africa, he's pitched his tent in London. "It's akin to a beacon for clients ensnared in disputes or looking to safeguard their investments," said Pickworth.
