“There is evidence to suggest that the officer was hit by gunfire in his ballistic vest,” according to Chief Casto. Fortunately, the officer sustained only minor injuries. The officer who shot and killed the suspect did not sustain any injuries.
As reported by the Fresno Bee, the suspect had a lengthy criminal record, including over 20 arrests and six outstanding warrants. The identity of the suspect has not been released.
