Furthermore, he said they are monitoring high priority areas particularly Calistoga, Sonoma, Middletown, and Geyserville.
In a press conference, Calistoga Mayor Chris Canning, they are urging resident to evacuate even if there us no fire activity within the city limits.
According to him, “Your presence in Calistoga is not welcome if you are not a first responder.” He added that there very few people who decided to stay, which he considered a “distraction to our first responders.”
Mayor Manning warned, “You will not be given life safety support at this point. You are on your own.”
California wildfires containment situation as of Thursday
- The Sulphur Fire in Lake County already wiped out 2,500 acres. It is 45% contained.
- The Adobe Fire in Sonoma County already charred 7,955 acres and still spreading. Firefighters contained only 1% of the area.
- The Pressley in Sonoma County is (1% controlled) still ongoing and already burnt 473 acres.
- The Nun/Norrborn Fire in Sonoma County destroyed 14,698 acres. Firefighter only contained 3%.
- The Patrick Fire in Napa Country damaged 14,688 acres. Firefighters contained 3%.
- The Atlas Fire in Napa and Solano Counties burnt 43,762 acres and destroyed significant structures. Firefighters contained 3%.
- The two fires in Mendocino-Lake Complex burnt 32,100 acres. Firefighter just contained 5%.
- The LaPorte Fire (25% contained) in Butte County burnt 6,059 acres
- The Point Fire in Calaveras County burnt 130 acres and is 90% contained.
