Other helpful ways of combatting suicidal thoughts are remembering that no hardship lasts forever. Sometimes, when you’re in the middle of a rough patch, it can feel like it’s never going to end. However, light always exists at the end of the tunnel, even when it doesn’t seem that way.

Finally, having a supportive network you can rely upon goes a very long way. You want to be with people who you love, trust, and can lean on when the going gets tough.

Whether it’s a parent, sibling, cousin, friend, or even a counselor, just talking out your feelings and what you’re going through with a trusted person makes such a wonderful difference.
