Get ready for (potentially) your biggest and best Christmas ever. The Mega Millions Jackpot will be worth 320-million dollars on its next drawing. And that just happens to fall on, you guessed it, Christmas Day.

“The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever offered on Christmas Day will be on tap for next Tuesday, December 25 – an estimated $321 million ($193.7 million cash),” the Mega Millions press release reads. “No ticket matched all six numbers drawn Friday night – the white balls 10, 13, 61, 62 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 5.”

This jackpot has only been in existence since 2002. In those 16 years, the jackpot has only fallen on Christmas four times. 2015 was the last time the jackpot drawing landed on Christmas day. However, of those four drawings, there have been no winners on Christmas.

The Mega Millions Jackpot has become a household name in the last few years as they have had a few billion dollar drawings. The most recent billion dollar jackpot happened in October of this year. The winning numbers gave one lucky person 1.5 bil.

“The October 23 jackpot was truly a “mega” prize – $1.537 billion won on a single ticket sold in South Carolina; that winner has not yet come forward,” the press release reads. “Four other jackpots have been won in 2018 – $451 million on January 5 (Florida), $533 million on March 30 (New Jersey), $142 million on May 4 (Ohio) and $543 million on July 24 (California).”

Although people don’t win the main jackpot all that often, smaller prizes are often won. Since the last drawing in October, over 10 million dollars in prize money has been won.
