It is during this time that DeSantis will host a rally with supporters in Des Moines, just ahead of Wednesday’s third GOP primary debate. On Tuesday, the Iowa governor will also convene with DeSantis for another political event in Davenport.
A significant win for the Florida governor
An endorsement from Iowa’s governor carries major weight for Republicans in presidential primaries. Even in the months leading up to today’s announcement, many Americans expected Reynolds to ultimately back DeSantis, despite her initially taking a neutral stance in the GOP primary.
On social media, the Florida governor’s supporters are celebrating the news of Reynolds’ coming endorsement tomorrow. They also believe having the official support of Iowa’s governor will help DeSantis ultimately win that state.
While Trump supporters and others continue to insist that DeSantis stands no real chance of prevailing, backers of the Florida governor believe otherwise. They’ve also predicted that in the event of DeSantis securing Iowa in the GOP primary, he’ll easily win the Republican Party’s nomination as well.
