The criticism directed at Wray and the FBI intensified after Hunter Biden’s guilty plea to federal income tax charges and a felony firearm offense. Hunter’s laptop has been in the possession of the FBI since 2019. And the contents are now public.
Republicans claim that both banking records and the laptop reveal that President Biden was involved in multiple bribery schemes with foreign nationals when he was vice president.
The White House and the Democrats deny these allegations.
Democratic lawmakers, such as Representatives Zoe Lofgren and Adam Schiff, claimed they were concerned that the FBI has not been investigating Trump enough. And suggest that FBI investigators deliberately delayed inquiries into Trump’s role in the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Schiff said the delay was “inexplicable” and questioned the FBI’s slow response in investigating Trump’s refusal to hand over classified documents stored at his Florida resort.
